“A Christmas ad to rival the commercial giants”

We were approached by the Church of England in Nottinghamshire to create a Christmas message video that would stand out amongst the crowd. Their desire was to encourage people to ‘come home’ to Church this Christmas, but also to connect on an emotional and spiritual level the theme of ‘reconciliation’.

We wrote and proposed a unique and powerful story, that used a parable from the bible as its basis, but with a unique modern-day twist focusing on a mother and daughter relationship at Christmas time.

With budget and time tight for the project, we worked with the client to find creative solutions in our production through a careful process of storyboarding and planning. We knew that a key part of the video would be the music, and so early on in the process we commissioned musicians to record a moving acoustic rendition of O Holy Night to accompany the video. We then carefully directed each scene (at one point managing 50 extras!) to ensure the emotion and message was felt throughout the whole story.

Previously, Christmas videos had averagely received 2-5k organic views across their platforms each year. Within 2 weeks, this video marked a significant increase to over 2 million views and 15k shares.
